Have underground adventures in the company of a guide at the Caves of Hotton. This extraordinary Walloon natural heritage site is a collection of 6 kilometres of caves situated approximately 70 metres underground. The world’s smallest city is to be found in the Belgian Ardennes: Durbuy. Visit tourist attractions such as a traditional brewery and the Saint-Amour jam factory in this little city with its medieval city centre. In summer there is a darling tourist train. If you would like to know more about the Battle of the Bulge during the Second World War, visit the Bastogne War Museum, Musée de la Bataille des Ardennes or the Ardennes Poteau ‘44 Museum.
Chorophyll is the substance that gives plants their green colour. Chlorophylle is the slightly complicated, but entirely logical, name of a recreation forest park in Manhay. Children can have the time of their lives here, for example walking a gangway that leads them right into the tops of the trees. And at Le Château Féodal, the medieval castle in La Roche-en-Ardenne, there’s lots to do all year round. During the summer months, there are shows by archers and falconers and medieval weekends and ghost days. Around the world, the Ardennes have a reputation as a challenging outdoor area. Along the Ourthe there are unlimited possibilities for hiring a kayak or for families to go rafting down the river.
